Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse

Despite using oil-free products, my skin still gets oily! I did some research and found that my skin isn't getting enough hydration and is therefore producing more oil to compensate for any dryness, which makes sense to me as most of my products are lightweight oil-free formulas. Now I thought that having oily skin meant that oil based products were a complete no-zone for me. That if I added any more oil to my face I will have more oil there than at a petrol station! I found, however, that what would be best for my skin type would be a dry oil, which is easily absorbed and non-greasy. The product that came up a few times matching this description was Nuxe's Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil, which is a multi-purpose dry oil originating from France. It's made up of 6 plant oils that can be treated on the face, body or hair to add suppleness, nourishment and hydration.

It still feels strange for me to introduce an oil to my skincare regime but after having used this oil for a few days I found that using it isn't actually as scary as I thought it would be considering my skin type. So far I am absolutely loving it! I have been using it at night by letting it absorb into my skin for about an hour before applying my moisturiser. I bought the spray version and because it spreads well I use one spray onto my hands and press it onto my face with my fingers. I thought that when I woke up in the morning after using it that my skin will be a shiny mess but instead it appears hydrated (my skin has a nice glow) and it feels soft and supple. In addition to having a gorgeous, light fragrance I also love how this oil is really versatile in the fact that you can use it in various ways such as mixing it with your moisturiser and even foundation, which I  am yet to try. Most importantly, it contains at least 96% natural ingredients with no preservatives, which means it is kind to sensitive skin. I also sprayed some of this into my hair and it made my hair smell divine!

What are your thoughts about this product if you have used it?

10 Little Things that made Me Happy

No I didn’t win the lottery or hear any official news that JK Rowling was going to release another Harry Potter book. I didn’t even find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow that appeared in my backyard. But I still managed to be happy this week! :D Why? Because these ten little things happened . . .

  1. There was just enough jam in my jam donut. I hate it when you eat something where there’s just not enough filling and you’re stuck eating the boring parts. This time, though, I wasn’t disappointed.
  2. I started reading a new book (surprise!). I love the feel of the crisp pages between my fingers, the crease-free cover and the excitement of reading and experiencing something I haven’t before.
  3. Thankfully enough there was nobody around as I fell going UP the stairs. My bag managed to wind itself around my neck. How embarrassing, though!!
  4. I woke up in the morning and the sunlight was ready to burst through the curtains of my bedroom windows. I simply feel happier when I wake up in the morning and the sun is shining. It means I can spend more of my day outdoors and that my blog photos will turn out better!
  5. I flipped through a collection of family photo albums and had a little chuckle at how dorky I was am.
  6. I sat outside a cute cafe with my bestie. Frothy cuppacinos. Dappled sunlight through the trees. Laughter. Good conversation. Delicious dessert. Bliss!
  7. It rained outside whilst I was snuggled up on the couch in my pj’s watching my favourite tv show. I love the feeling of feeling safe and warm in my house while the weather is roaring outside. This is especially so during the wintertime when the fireplace is on!
  8. I made someone laugh a lot :D There’s no better feeling than when you can bring happiness to someone else’s day (even if it’s an embarrasing story about yourself).
  9. I added to my collection of Parisian items by discovering a cute little Eiffel Tower pen. Yep ,you read that right!
  10. I scored my favourite parking spot in the carpark of a shopping centre when it was really busy (which is as far as my luck seems to go these days!).

It’s the little things in life, folks!

What are some of the little things that made you happy this week?

My Bookshelf

One thing that I don’t think I could live without is books. I have always loved reading since I can remember and I don't think I have ever lived a day without having a book to read. I have a collection of bookmarks and just love the warm feeling of snuggling up and reading a book. Books, reading and writing are more than a hobby to me, they are basically my passion. I'm that person that could spend hours in a bookstore, that marvels over book covers and loves feeling the cover and pages of a book in their hands. I couldn't ever read a book on an ipad! As much as I love libraries, I feel that I cannot borrow from them as I'm afraid of falling in love with a book and then parting from it. Once I read a book, I need to keep it! The first stories I read as a child were common fairy tale stories and Enid Blyton stories such as the Faraway Tree, which my mum introduced me to. Then along came Harry Potter and I was immersed within the world of books (thank you JK Rowling). When I was younger, all I was drawn to was fantasy. I actually read almost all of the Harry Potter books nearing around ten times each, I was just going from book one to seven over and over, that’s how much I loved it. I still have all my childhood books, which along with my current collection, I intend to pass on in the future. Since then, I have collected soo many books, as you can see by my bookshelf. I have actually ran out of room on it so I think I need another one . . . or two.

I also have heaps more in trunks and boxes, which isn’t my favourite way to store them as I like to see my books and pull them off the shelf whenever I like. I also decorated my bookshelf with a little collection of sentimental pieces and gifts. Getting older, the genre of my reading has expanded and I discovered that I loved reading books with a historical background, particularly within the period of first world war through the nineteen-twenties and thirties. There’s something about that era (especially the twenties) that I love (yes, I’m a huge Downton Abbey fan). Sometimes I think I was meant to live during that time (as an aristocratic lady living in an English countryside mansion, of course).

I also love books that flip between the past and the present and contain secrets and unsolved mysteries. Discovering Kate Morton, author of The Shifting Fog and her most recently published novel The Lake House, enlightened me to the fact that I love books of that genre. The first book I read from Kate Morton was a few years ago (The Secret Keeper) and I really loved the mystery and the surprising ending  so after that I read every novel of hers and she rapidly became one of my favourite Australian writers. My favourite novel by Kate Morton is definitely the Shifting Fog, whose synopsis you can read here. My favourite thing about this novel is not only the setting but also her writing and the way she layered the story with complex plots that all come together nicely in the end in a way that I least expected. Her characters are also sharp and feel real, which in addition to novel’s featuring of scripts and articles, intensify the story’s reality and intrigue.

Another Australian writer of whose books I love to read is Fiona McIntosh, whose written numerous historical romance novels such as Nightingale and The Tailor’s Girl. I have read all of her novels of this genre and I honestly I love them all but my favourite is The Tailor’s Girl, which you can find here. It was one of those books that I just couldn’t put down and made me feel sad when it ended because I was so immersed in the romance between Eden and Tom and their respective worlds. I felt like I was reading a version of a story that could feature in Downton Abbey. The characters were warm and I so desperately wanted to be a part of the settings in 1920s London and the English countryside. In the review shown in the link, the writer says that the story and the scenery would translate beautifully on film and I completely agree!

Belinda Alexandra is another Australian writer that I love. She also writes historical novels that sometimes shift to present day, which means that her novels also feature some mystery and suspense. I love how her novels take place in different settings across the world (from France to Shanghai) and the amount of detail she incorporates in her writing to describe such settings. I love that she builds her character and the story around the time of war and that her novels carry so much emotion and heart. At the end of reading one of her novels, I feel like I have travelled back in time to the place that she describes and that I was there and that I really knew the characters. I also feel like I’ve learned something about the particuar time period and place featured in her novels due to the amount of detail and research her writing contains and is influenced by. I have read all her books and my favourite is Wild Lavender, which you can find here. It’s my favourite because I enjoyed being taken around different places from the Lavender Fields in Provence to Paris, Berlin and New York. I also loved the depth provided to Simone’s character and the circumstances she experienced during the second world war. It is a memorable story and one I would re-read again.

I have recently just discovered Lucinda Riley and I also really love her stories! It started with my reading the first novel to her seven-part series, The Seven Sisters, which you can read about here. It follows the story of seven sisters (one book per sister) and so far there are two published and I am yet to start reading the second, entitled Storm Sister. It flips between the past and present of each sister, who were adopted as children by a mysterious man named Pa Salt. I love how it flips between present and past and that there is so much intrigue, unsolved mysteries and family secrets. I have read her other novels The Midnight Rose and The Italian Girl and I cannot wait to read her other book called The Girl on the Cliff. She has fast become another of my favourite authors. There are so many other authors that I love such as Cathy Kelly, who writes great women’s fiction and Monica McInerney, who like Cathy Kelly writes novels with heartwarming  plots and characters.

Wowee me I feel like I have written a book myself, this post is quite long! I believe it’s a testament to my passion for books, reading and writing. Before I go I’ll make you a list of which books I have on my reading list and authors I am yet to add to my list of favourite writers. Almost all of these books I purchased at Dymocks bookstore in Melbourne city the other day (which for me is Heaven on earth). I was pulling books off of the shelves like a mad woman. I always spend wayy to much when I go to the bookstore. Anyway here is my to be read list!

A War of Flowers, Jane Thynne.
The Nightingale, Kristin Hannah.
The Girl on the Cliff, Lucinda Riley.
The Storm of War, Kate Williams.
If You Go Away, Adele Parks.
The Last Embrace, Pam Jenoff.
The Storm Sister, Lucinda Riley.
Between Sisters, Cathy Kelly.
The Patterson Girls, Rachael Johns
The Night Falling, Katherine Webb.
Letters to the Lost, Iona Grey.
Echoes from Afar, Tamara McKinley.
Paris Letters, Janice MacLeod.

 . . . best I get reading!

I really treasure my bookshelf and my books, I don’t think I could never part from them!

Let me know in the comments section who are some of your favourite authors? Do you have a favourite book? Let me know how book crazy you are or if you have read any of the books that I have mentioned.

Haircare Routine

Hello! For this post I’d like to share with you my haircare routine. Having fairly straight hair, I don’t really need to use much product in it on a daily basis. My hair, however, sits rather flat so most of the products I use are to give it a little oomph! My hair is prone to be oily, which is annoying because it means I have to wash my hair every 2-3 days.

I tend to chop and change the products I use to wash and condition my hair, however the two brands I love are L’Oreal Everpure Volume Shampoo and OGX. The L’Oreal volume shampoo really does what it says! After drying, my hair appears volumised, even when I straighten it. It makes my hair feel smooth though with some grip, which is what I need when I’m curling or wearing my hair up. The OGX shampoo and conditioner is probably my favourite! The one I’m trying at the moment is B5, which has a gorgeous fruity, berry fragrance and makes my hair feel really soft. I’m also using the OGX Cherry Blossom conditioner on my ends, which also smells fruity and lovely. One thing I like about both these shampoo brands is that they are sulfate-free, which is an ingredient that is likely to cause drying and irritation.

After I wash my hair I like to take it out of the towel as soon as possible because I notice that if I leave it up in a towel my hair gets oily rather quickly (in a day or so) from the build up of moisture. I generally air-dry my hair to keep it healthy. I used to always dry my hair with a dryer and I must say that I’ve had less split ends and dryness. I will only dry my hair with a dryer if I’m in a hurry or if I need to quickly dry off any damp areas after air-drying. To remove any knots I use the Cricket Ultra Smooth de-tangle brush. I really like this brush because it detangles knots and smooths out my hair without my having to tug or pull at it, which is what I feel when I use a normal hairbrush.

There are a number of products I put in my hair after washing (before letting it dry) depending on what I feel my hair needs. One of my favourite products to use is Chihtsai Instant Treatment. I only need to use a little amount whilst my hair is still damp from the shower and I know that afterwards it will make my hair beautifully silky and smooth. It has a lovely, silky and creamy texture. It is meant to protect hair from environmental damage, detangle and prevent split-ends and keep hair moisturised with the help of vitamin-e. I also like how its got a few ingredients in it (rosemary and silk protein).

Like most people, my hair looks frazzled and boofy looking on humid days. In Melbourne the weather is rather humid during the summertime so to avoid any Hermione-hair days I use Kevin Murphy’s Smooth Again anti-frizz treatment. It has a nice, musk-lolly scent that’s really smooth and easily absorbed by my hair. One other good thing about it is that it is paraben free.

My hair is already oily but I do also like to use oils on the ends of my hair to retain shine and silky-smooth hair. Two oils that I love are Argan Oil of Morocco by OGX and Agave Healing Oil, both of which I use on days when I feel my hair is looking a bit dull or if I’ve been using heat on it a lot through straightening. The OGX Argan oil has a lovely, rich scent. I only use a tiny amount and rub it into the ends of my hair. Instantly my hair is soft and smooth. The Agave Oil is also particularly useful for me on humid days as it makes my hair smooth and silky. I also like how both of these oils make my hair feel and look smooth and shiny without any stickiness.

To make my hair shiny I also love to use Kevin Murphy’s Shimmer Shine Mist. It contains glitter-like particles that, once I lightly spray onto my styled hair, create a healthy and shiny look. It smells great, too!

To achieve a summer-y, beach hair look I use Toni and Guy’s Casual Sea Salt Texturing Spray. It provides my hair with volume and texture, which is what I need because as I’ve said before my hair is rather flat being straight. I spray this onto the roots of my hair and rub it into my scalp to get a bodied look. I tend to use this when my hair is not freshly-washed (maybe a day or two after I’ve washed it), when my hair already has a little hold.

To get volume I use Schwarzkopft Push Up Volume Powder, which adds grip and is perfect to use when teasing my hair. I dab a bit on my roots and rub it into my scalp before using a teasing brush. I use only a little at a time and built up the volume I want otherwise it makes my hair too tough and difficult to work with.

To straighten my hair I use MUK’s Straightening Iron/Style Stick. I love how it makes my hair straight and smooth-looking after just going over it once. To protect my hair from heat-damage I use Paul Mitchell’s Hot Off the Press Thermal Protection Hairspray, which I spray onto my hair before straightening. I then spray over my hair like a hairspray after straightening to keep it in style. I tend to avoid straightening my hair everyday as that is how I can protect it most but using this protection spray helps to minimise split-ends when I do use it.

For some reason, no matter how much I don’t straighten the top of my head too much or blow-dry the top bit either, I end up with fly-away hairs! To smooth down the fly-away hairs I like to use John Frieda’s Touch Up Fly-Away Tamer. It looks like a mascara but it contains a gel-like consistency that you brush over the fly-away hair. It keeps them down easily without getting your fingers sticky and I can take this around with me during the day and touch up if need be.

My hair gets oily quite quickly and sometimes I just want to extend washing my hair so one thing I cannot live without is dry shampoo! I love VO5’s Plump it Up Dry Shampoo because it smells great and adds volume to my hair whilst eliminating oil. Also I find that with this dry-shampoo I don’t have to keep reapplying it during the day. One other dry shampoo I love is Klorane’s Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat-milk. It also really keeps my hair oil-free and adds volume. One dry shampoo that I haven’t tried yet is Seven Wonder’s Natural Hair Care coconut oil dry shampoo, which smells like a beach holiday!

To keep my hair in place I use Schwarzkopft Hair Styling spray. It doesn’t have a strong scent, which I like but it has a strong hold, which is what I need as my hair struggles to hold itself when volumed.

Do you use any of the products I’ve mentioned or any haircare products that you think I might like? Let me know in the comments section :D

Skincare Staples

For this post I thought I’d share my daily skincare products. I have rather oily skin, especially on my t-zone (across forehead, bridge of the nose and chin). Also, my skin is quite sensitive, more so when I’m exposed to the heat or excessive sunlight, which I believe is classified as rosacea. What’s important for me then is that I wear sunscreen!

I use Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector sunscreen that has a SPF of 30+ with both UVA and UVB protection. It also contains a facial moisturiser so it doesn’t dry my skin out when I do wear it, despite that I still do wear my normal moisturiser underneath. The things I like about this sunscreen is that it when it is rubbed into the skin it goes clear quite easily, it doesn’t clog my pores or  feel thick or heavy on the face, zinc is the only active ingredient and it has no chemical sun filters. It is a pure physical sunscreen, which for me is better than a chemical sunscreen as I have sensitive skin. I also love it because it sits really well beneath my makeup, so I guess I can say it actually works for me as a primer because when I wear it without my Hourglass mineral veil primer my makeup still lasts just as well. Protecting my skin from the sun is very important to me and so I wear this sunscreen everyday and have been for about three years now.

Having rosacea means that my skin cannot tolerate excessive heat or sunlight, so when I spend time outdoors on a hot day I like to carry La Roche-Posay’s Thermal Spring Water mist for sensitive skin. I spray it onto my face whenever I’m feeling warm and I feel instantly refreshed. It’s a fine mist and dries well so it doesn’t smudge my makeup when I use it. It’s very soothing and calming on my skin and I couldn’t see myself going out on a warm day without it so it’s definitely a staple product of mine during the summertime. La Roche-Posay have some amazing products for sensitive skin so if you have this skin type yourself I would suggest giving their products a try.

For my daily moisturiser I use Biore’s Nourish Moisture Lotion, which contains SPF15. I wear this moisturiser because I like that it’s oil-free and feels light upon application, which is what I essentially like to use during the summertime when my skin is more oily than dry. It also doesn’t clog pores, which is another thing I like about it. For me, however, it doesn’t completely control shine as I find when I wear it without my sunscreen on days when I’m either wearing makeup or not, my skin still gets a bit oily. Although when paired with my sunscreen I don’t have any shine problems.

At night I wear Avene’s Hydrance Optimale Richehydrating cream. I love it because it is hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic and very rich and creamy so it keeps my skin soft, supple and hydrated. It isn’t oil-free so I cannot wear this during the day. I tried once and my skin was very oily, so I stick to wearing it at night to ensure my skin is getting properly moisurised. Avene also have some great products for sensitive skin so give them a go as well if your looking for a gentle product to use on your skin.

More so in the wintertime, I get dry skin around my eyes. It is a very thin and delicate area and, therefore, succumbs to dryness far more quickly than the rest of the facial areas. To keep my eye area soft and supple I wear Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration eye cream with Clary Sage. I love that it is light and that only a tiny amount dotted around my eye area can keep it hydrated. I use this once a day at nighttime as more than that for me isn’t necessary.

Around the mid 2014, I began experiencing problems with my lips. They would break out with tiny red spots and feel very tingly and warm. I also had welt-like splotches on my lips and at one point I looked as though I had been punched in the mouth . . . not pretty! I had tests done to see if it was a cold-sore virus ect but it came back negative and to this day I don’t know what it might be, though I suspect that it is an allergy to something that I haven’t found yet. I get it on and off and sometimes it results in just a few tiny red spots but in all it has made me rather pedantic about what I put on my lips. I wear a lipbalm every day as I have rather dry lips (I’m not sure whether I’m stuck in a cycle of dry lips because of often wearing lipbalm . . .?). I wanted something that didn’t contain harsh chemicals so I use Sukin’s Nourishing Lip treatment. It doesn’t contain any parabens or sodium lauryl sulphate (which I heard can be hard on sensitive skin) and so far I don’t have any problems!

Having dry lips most of the time means that I need to often exfoliate them. I love using Lush’s Bubblegum Lip Scrub! It has a lovely, bubblegum scent and is ok to consume, which makes it a easy to use on the go.

To take my makeup off I use either Bioderma’s SensibioH20 Micelle Solution or Neutrogena’s Night Calming Cleansing Towelettes (pictured in first image), both of which are gentle on my sensitive skin. I prefer the Bioderma over the Neutrogena wipes (or any face wipes in general) as I find that with the Bioderma I don’t have to wipe my makeup off as hard, especially around my eyes. I press a cotton makeup pad to the pump and wipe it over my face and the makeup just dissolves. For the eye area I keep the cotton pad over my eye to soften the shadow and mascara so that it is removed more easily. I love that it is for sensitive skin, that it’s fragrance-free and doesn’t dry my skin. The neutrogena wipes are fine for my skin and remove my makeup just as well but I just prefer how more easily the Bioderma removes my makeup.

To cleanse I generally use Nude by Nature’s Daily Cleanser, which makes my skin really soft and supple. I have since used all of it and am now trying Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser. So far I like how it makes my skin feel  really soft and moisturised after use. It doesn’t sting my eyes and takes off any remaining residue very easily.

For weekly exfoliation I use Nude by Nature’s Nude Face Scrub. It keeps my pores nice and clean and leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh after use. It’s creamy and non-drying to my skin and I really like that about it.

For my toner I use Apple Cider Vinegar, which I have been using for about 5-6 years. I feel I could write an entire post about how much I love it but for now I’ll just say that its benefits outweigh its rather unpleasant scent. I love that it not only keeps my pores clean but it evens out my complexion and I hardly get any pimples using it (and if I do I just press a little cider onto a cotton bud or cotton pad and it almost always disappears). To use it I just wet a cotton pad with some water and then dribble some cider onto it before squeezing out the excess before rubbing it all over my face and neck. I believe that my skin appears healthy and even because of it so I don’t think I will ever stop using it!

What are some of your skincare staples? Do you use any of the products that I use? Let me know below in the comments section! :D

Pretty Pink Purchases

Hello! You'd think I'd have had enough of shopping after having spent a lot of time doing so in the past week, but nope...! I seriously need to consider leaving my card at home when I go out! Anyway, I can't regret these lovely pink items I went out and bought yesterday at two outlet stores. I went into Victoria Secret, whose fragrances I really like. I had to take an image of the bag as I think it's really pretty.

Inside this pretty bag are two lovely things, the Love is Heavenly body lotion and body mist. I was first introduced to this scent when I went to Victoria Secret in Hawaii, It contains water Lily, Mandarin Flower and Luminous Musk so it has a floral, feminine scent that is subtle and lasts all day. The body creme is absorbed well into the skin and I can smell it on me even at the end of the day. Apparently Victoria Secret have actually discontinued it, which is a shame because I really love the scent but you can still buy it from some outlet stores and online from websites such as Amazon. Whilst on the subject of Victoria Secret, I thought I might share some of my other Victoria Secret fragrances, which I also bought in Hawaii last year.

This fragrance called Eau So Sexy is also one of my favourites, it is almost gone now so I really need to get a replacement soon. It is fruity and also very feminine like the Love is Heavenly fragrance, as it contains bergamot, paradise apple and Chantilly cream. I wore it every day in Hawaii so whenever I catch its scent I'm taken back to the memory of being there. I also bought some mists shown below. I stocked up on a few more of them but I have since used them up but the ones shown below are Coconut Passion, Sheer Love and Aqua Kiss. Coconut Passion definitely reminds me of the beach and spending time in the sun, Sheer Love is quite soft and floral and aqua kiss is very fresh. I think these particular scents have since been discontinued but they have remade them into another fragrances, one of which you can find here

I also bought these lovely slippers from Peter Alexander, which are made of 100% Australian sheepskin wool. They are soo soft and comfortable to wear, I feel like I'm walking on a cloud!

Have you bought anything petty and pink lately? Leave a comment below and feel free to let me know what your favourite Victoria Secret fragrance is if you have one.

Shopping Haul

Hello there :) For this post I’d like to share with you the things that I purchased this week! Most of what I purchased has a Parisian theme (typical me), such as these lovely Des Cahiers (notebooks) which came in a pack of three as part of a notebook collection called “Paris in Colour.” I stumbled  marched into Dymocks bookshop and just before I was about to leave (to the pleas of my sisters who accompanied me and were getting annoyed at the amount of time I was spending there) I saw them from the corner of my eye and had to buy them. The back and front covers of each of the notebooks feature gorgeous Parisian images, which follow a colour theme of either red, green and yellow. They’re nice and light to carry and easy to slip in your handbag. I’ll be using them for uni lectures/ notes and some things personal like blogging ideas and journal entries (as they’re just too pretty to just be wasted on boring university notes).

I also bought some books (no surprise there to those that know me well) from my local Collins bookstore. I bought Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, which I have been meaning to read for a long time. I have not ventured much into the classic books but I would like to expand my reading into that area this year. Whilst at the counter I spotted a Parisian bookmark for a dollar. *Sigh* I have to do something about this Parisian addiction. In Target I went to the book section and bought three books. Tamara McKinley’s Echoes from Afar (which is set in Paris), Letters to the Lost by Iona Grey and Paris Letters (surprise surprise) by Janice McLeod. I have soo many books to get through this year! Eeek. In Target I couldn’t help myself to not buying these Disney DVDs, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King, the latter of which I am watching right now while preparing this post.

I also recently updated my phone to an iphone 6 and needed a new iphone cover, so of course I went for a Parisian theme. It says “Bonjour Paris” on the back alongside a cute image of the Eiffel tower and a bicycle. Very pretty and totally my style. I also went to the Body Shop and trialled almost all their body butters and fragrances before deciding on the Japanese Cherry Blossom body creme and fragrance mist spray. They have a gorgeous, floral-like scent that is light and summery. Complementing the body creme with the fragrance mist I find enhances the body cremes lovely, fresh scent. It’s quite concentrated and I can sense it scent throughout the day, which is great! There’s nothing better than having a nice shower/bath and then lathering this on my skin, I absolutely love it.

I also was in need of some new accessories so I went into Lovisa and bought these three pretty packs of earrings, which were on a buy 3 for $10 special. There is soo much jewellry there I had a difficult time choosing between all the different pieces but I stuck do what I needed and bought the earrings (with an extra pack of rosegold, long earrings that just slipped onto the counter where I was paying). How cute are the little owl pair?

I also bought these marble and rose-gold double earrings from Witchery. My sister picked them up and said “you’ll like these” and I did so I bought them. I’m going through a phase of liking marble and rose gold so anything that features them together my purse starts singing. I also went to Forever New, a really feminine and pretty store and from there I bought some lovely silver earrings shown below and a mixed ring set (I really love accessories as you might now know).

I also bought a cropped, white t-shirt that has an image of a bottle decorated with gold sequins that says “Potion d’amour” on it (yep, another Parisian item to add to my enormous collection of Parisian things). I also got this gorgeous floral, maxi skirt that’s an item of the stores latest collection, La Soiree. It’s decorated with lovely florals, which makes it a beautiful piece to have to wear in the summertime. I love the split in the middle which allows the skirt to flow prettily behind you as you walk. It’s flirty and feminine and I just love it.

There’s also a lot of khaki in at the moment so I bought a khaki t-shirt that ties at the waist and a khaki roll-neck sleeveless dress, which I got from Forever New.  I also needed a new bag for uni/work so I went for this black backback and to wear in the summer time I bought a cute white, mini side bag. The bags I also bought from Forever New.

In Topshop I found this black, sleevless blazer that was on sale. I love how it can be worn with almost everything and can be dressed down for day or up for night. I can see it as an item that I’ll be wearing a lot. In Peter Alexander I bought this pretty Bambi nightie that is part of the store’s Disney collection. I love the bright florals in it!

At the end of my latest shopping trip I purchased some yummy macarons from Zumbo. There were so many delicious sounding ones to choose from but I went for four nuttella, a salted caramel  and a marshmallow flavour. Mmmmm . . . And so there is my shopping haul for this week! Let me know some of the things you purchased this week in the comments section. For now . . .

Au Revoir!
